In our teaching of the visual arts at Lakeside, we stress the importance of process, encourage risk-taking, and aid in the development of personal artistic direction. Students are expected to solve creative problems, practice artistic techniques to develop their skills, think critically about their process and learn how to articulate their ideas within their chosen discipline. Collaboration amongst students takes the form of group project work, group critiques and learning from one another in the studio work environment.
